Writing: An informal email (Student's Book, p. 114, ex d)

Dear John,

Sorry for not writing earlier, but I've been checking a lot of paperwork from my students recently. You see, they're taking their tests next week!

Thank you so much for having me to stay with you and your family. I could experience the excitement of London from a local perspective.

I was glad to meet your nephew and niece in person. They're smart and talented kids; and your sister Rose is really kind. I'll never forget our picnic in Hyde Park. I loved it!

As I was telling you, I've been working on schoolprojects lately. I want my students to be prepared for their exams, and you know that practice makes perfect. I've also had to go to Mexico City almost every weekend for my dance classes andto visit my boyfriend. He's been incredibly busy these days because he has three jobs at the moment, so he hasn't been able to come and see me.

I've just sent some gifts for the women in your house... Remember the enormous Mexican doll that was near Tower Bridge? Well, expect to get three of them (normal-sized, of course) in the next few days, for your mum, your sister and your niece. I know they liked it a lot.

That's all for now. Thanks again for everything. Hope to hear from you soon. Give my regards to the whole family!

All the best,

Rocio

PS Don't say anything about the dolls! I'd like it to be a surprise for everyone. Hope you take some photos when they get them. ;)
